What's in a Name?

When I was pregnant with Dalin, Chris and I had a really hard time settling on a name that we both liked. So we did what we always do when we have a hard decision to make, we put it up for a vote with the kids. Unfortunately we had narrowed it down to three choices (Gavin, Collin and Dalin for any one who was wondering) and we had three kids voting. Each name got a vote. Yeah I know, we are so smart. It was the first time we had gone to the hospital with no definite name in mind. We didn't even officially decide on the name Dalin until the day after he was born. For about a month after he was born I was sure we had chosen the wrong name, it just didn't seem to fit. Fast forward two years, I know we picked the right name, but I think maybe Dalin subconsciously remembers our indecisiveness because he refuses to say his name. If you ask him his name he will say any other name or nonsense word he can think of. He won't even say Dalin when you ask him to. Kaylee, Ashton and Aiden take turns trying to find out what his name is for the day. It's pretty funny. Here's a sample of his name aversion, and some of our favorite impressions he does. (The dog says "woof slurp!" He made that one up on his own and it makes us laugh and laugh.)
